Today we had snow for I think the fourth time in four weeks. It looks like practice makes perfect may be coming to be with Memphis drivers and driving in the snow. Since I moved here I've been told several times that it's not if you have an accident it's when. This is especially true when it rains but throw snow into the equation and things just get crazy. Schools, businesses and churches shut down at even the hint of snow. And those brave souls who venture out have a ridiculously high chance of spinning out, being in an accident or ended up in a ditch. This time I didn't hear about as many wrecks in rush hour traffic. When we hit the streets for doctor appointments this morning, everyone seemed to be driving slower, breaking properly, keeping a safe distance between them and the car in front and just driving with common sense. How refreshing! There are numerous activities being canceled for tonight but not as many as before. Some of the closures are probably because those in charge know that there won't be enough people showing up to justify meeting as schedule. We've got more snow coming Wednesday. I hope the people of Memphis do even better than today and show that they are learning that life as we know it doesn't have to come to a screeching halt because of a little snow.
Oh yeah, this winter's weather doesn't look like global warming to me.
It is 7 degrees here with wind out of the north and snow forecast...I think the global warming has evened out at least for now. LOL
